My Story…

I  My name is Mashal Rafiq. I am a British Asian Muslimah born and brought up in the Middle East. Alhamdulillah I was blessed to grow up in an environment that was upon Quran and Sunnah.

I am a mother of two, married and settled in the UK since 2007.

I came to the UK in 2004 for my bachelors degree in Early Childhood Studies and Education. I also hold Ijazah in Tajweed from Riwaq al Quran Institute, Egypt. It was during the time I was a univeristy student, I met women who were desperate to learn the subjects that I never realised I had the privilege of being granted with such ease. I had never appreciated the fact that I grew up with Tajweed, Arabic, Tafseer and Memorisation until then.

Once I started on this journey of sharing, it led me to realise that my greatest passion was helping women improve recitation and understanding of the Quran to  change their relationship with it from  merely ritualistic to a deeper connection.  I want to empower women with the knowledge of the Quran to get closer to Allah and lead their families by example.  

Alhamdulillah I have been teaching these courses for  almost two decades now and look forward to meeting with more sisters to discover and build our connections with the Book of Allah together.  Being a non native myself, I specialise  in helping non Arabs overcome their challenges in learning the Quran. Every student is ensured personal care and attention through their learning journeys.
